Spring has Sprung

Warm weather has come to Boston and I would rather be skiing. This doesn’t mean that I don’t like anything about the warm weather. Each year there when summer comes to Boston there is a few things I really enjoy and can’t really picture my life without. Here is a list of things that make my life somewhat bearable between ski seasons.

1. College Girls in skirts– I mean this is a no brainer. Seriously if you don’t know then you will never know and you shouldn’t know.

“That’s what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.”

2. Seafood Yes you can eat seafood year round but its the best to eat nasty deep fried seafood from a seasonal clam shack at a picknic table. This is one of those things you should have done many times if you live in the Northeast and if you feel like I feel you are jones for some fried clams and onion rings right now. The best part about seafood shacks is that they often serve soft serve ice cream or creamies or frosties or whatever the hell you want to call them. I prefer to call them soft serve happiness. Again you can get soft serve year round but should only be enjoyed in the summer.

fenway_park3. The Red Sox- Again goes without saying but I feel compelled to make sure they are on the list due to the awesome game lat night. A seemingly meaningless early season match up between the Yankees and the Sox unites everyone in  the city in feeling that they are a part of something bigger than their day to day lives.  And yes walk off homers like the one last night that are better at Fenway than at any other ball park, so blow me Wrigley field. The excitement and the passion of the fans is the reason why anyone who has ever lived in Boston or went to college here have become sox fans and why not matter where you go in life you will always be a sox fan. Its like a cult and once you drink the cool aide its all over.

4. Outdoor drinking- Yes they have outdoor drinking in every city but restaurants in Boston seem to try to do everything in their power to setup outdoor drinking and dining. Almost every restaurant will petition the city to allow them to put 8 tables on the 4ft. x 4ft. piece of sidewalk outside there restaurant. The restaurants and the people know that in Boston warm weather and the time you can drink outside is limited so people here take advantage as much as possible usually to the detriment to themselves and the city at large. Plus you never really black out when day time drinking, well at least that’s what I can remember…

cimg57375. Concert Season- Boston is a good town to see some shows and the concert season is shaping up nicely this year. Already I have tickets for 6 shows so far this summer and will probably be getting more. Some of the best bands in the country play here and Boston has some of the most intelligent music fans in the country. I don’t understand why the city of Boston has never put on a full out music festival like other cities with large populations of young people have done. (example South by South West…) come on mumbles get on that already.

Please help continue the list…or at least email pictures of college girls in skirts.
